Manager (Residues, MRLs & Consumer Risk Assessment)
Caroline is an internationally recognised expert on residues in food and consumer risk issues and is head of the Exponent International office. Caroline is also a specialist in international regulatory affairs and product defence.
Dr. Tim Jarvis
Senior Environmental Fate Advisor
Tim is an internationally recognised expert on environmental fate and simulation modelling and is an active member of the FOCUS initiative. Tim also has extensive experience of designing strategies to address environmental exposure concerns.
Nick Pear
Senior Regulatory Strategy Advisor
Nick has extensive knowledge in regulatory affairs and project management skills with over 10 years experience working for government and industry in the registration of pesticides, biocides and veterinary products in the EU.
Dr. Karen Howard
Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Fate and Biocides
Karen is Exponent’s lead biocides contact and has extensive involvement in biocide regulation and dossier preparation. Karen is also experienced in the assessment of environmental exposure for pesticides and biocides and has written EU guidance documents on analytical methods.
Cecilia Gaston
Worldwide Pesticide Registration and International Food Safety Issues
Cecilia has wide-ranging experience in worldwide pesticide registration and food safety issues, with an international profile gained through her United Nations and CODEX involvement.
Chris O’Hara
Risk Assessment Specialist
Chris is experience in the conduct of human health risk assessments for both pesticides and biocides. He also specialises in the management and maintenance of product registration portfolios.
Simon Warren
Mammalian Toxicologist
Simon is an established toxicologist with extensive experience in industry, consultancy and government and has been the Head of Mammalian Toxicology at the UK pesticide regulatory authorities. Simon has also chaired European regulatory meetings on pesticide toxicology.
Fiona Crawford
Project Manager
Fiona has is an experienced project manager gained through Contract Research Organisations and industry and also provides expert pharmaceutical advice.
Dr Michela Dall’Osto
Regulatory Toxicologist and Italian Regulatory Liaison
Michela has over 13 years experience in the research and development of new agrochemicals and their toxicological and ecotoxicological properties. Based in Northern Italy, Michela has experience in supervising and monitoring a wide range of toxicological studies.
Dr Alec Willis
European Regulatory Specialist and REACH
Alec has over 8 years of regulatory and project management experience in the UK and EU gained from working in government and consultancy. He specialises in the re‑registration of pesticides and is Exponent International’s lead expert on REACH.
Amelia Hinchcliffe
Ecotoxicologist
Amelia has extensive experience in the preparation of environmental dossiers and risk assessments for both pesticides and biocides. She has also practical knowledge and expertise in the conduct of ecotoxicological studies for Contract Research Organisations.
Josie Tomlinson
Regulatory Ecotoxicologist
Josie has extensive experience in the evaluation of ecotoxicological data and environmental risk assessments for pesticides and biocides. Josie also has EU pesticide and biocide regulatory experience from working in government and consultancy.
Katy Hooke
Regulatory Chemist
Katy has had industrial experience in an analytical laboratory and has responsibility for dossier preparation and technical advice for physico-chemical properties, analytical methods and residues.
Lucy Marchbank-Denton
Office Manager
Lucy provides full support to the administrative and accounting functioning of Exponent International.

Stella has over 10 years administrative experience from a number of different positions.
Ute West
Personal Assistant
Having completed an apprenticeship in Business Administration in Germany, Ute has worked over many years as a PA and office manager to an executive level. Ute is employed as Dr. Caroline Harris’s secretary and also to provide support to the administration and accounting function of the company.
Dr Nigel Corlett
Nigel specializes in corrosion science and technology, particularly as they relate to corrosion evaluation, monitoring, and protection. Nigel’s expertise includes the degradation of materials, particularly metals and alloys, corrosion and electrochemical testing, and materials-related failure analysis investigations. Nigel provides materials-related consulting and testing services to medical device and implant manufacturers. His services include the evaluation of pitting and crevice corrosion susceptibilities, fretting and wear susceptibilities, materials selection and characterization, materials compatibility assessments, and explant evaluations.
